Description
Licab XL 400 mg is an extended-release tablet of lithium carbonate produced by Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. It stabilizes neurotransmitter balance in the brain, reducing extreme mood shifts within 1–3 weeks of initiation.
Precautions
- Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Generally contraindicated; lithium has teratogenic potential, especially during the first trimester, and may pass into breast milk. If required, must be closely managed by a physician.
- Renal, Thyroid & Cardiac Function: Regular monitoring required. Avoid use in severe kidney disease, uncontrolled thyroid disorders, Brugada syndrome, or heart failure.
