Licab Tablet (Lithium Carbonate)

Lithium Carbonate Tablets and Lithium Carbonate Extended-Release (XL) Tablets are prescription medications used for the treatment of manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder and as a maintenance treatment to prevent the recurrence of bipolar disorder. Lithium Carbonate Tablets and XL Tablets are taken by mouth, with or without food. The dosage of Lithium Carbonate Tablets and XL Tablets will vary depending on the age, weight, and condition of the patient, and should be individualized for each patient.

Lithium Carbonate Tablets are available in strengths of 150 mg, 300 mg, and 600 mg. Lithium Carbonate XL Tablets are available in strengths of 300 mg and 450 mg. The extended-release tablets release the medication slowly over time, allowing for once-daily dosing. Lithium carbonate tablets are generally taken 1 or 3 times each day with food to prevent stomach trouble. The dosage will differ from one to one medical condition, person's age, and weight. It is also sold under the brand name Eskalith.
