What is Ozempic Injection Used For?
Ozempic is used for type 2 diabetes to improve blood sugar levels.
- Dosage and Duration: Each Ozempic pen continues for one month and contains four maintenance doses of either 0.5 mg, 1 mg, or 2 mg, depending on the required dose.
- Types of Pens: There are three pen options available, each containing 2 mg/1.5 mL, 4 mg/3 mL, or 8 mg/3 mL of Ozempic, to meet various dosing requirements.
- First Dose: Start with a dose of 0.25 mg each week for the first four weeks to help your body adjust the medicine. This can be increased to 0.5, 1, or 2 mg weekly, as prescribed.
- Store: Store your Ozempic pen until ready to use. It can be stored at room temperature for up to 56 days after its first usage.
How to Know When Your Pen is Empty:
- Use the dose counter on your Ozempic pen to monitor remaining doses. If the dose selector cannot turn or the pen window shows no liquid, it's time to replace the pen.
Important Safety Tips:
- Do not share your Ozempic pen with others, even if the needle is changed each time.
- Dispose of used pens properly in an FDA-cleared sharps disposal container.
