Uses

Imiquimod cream is used to treat skin diseases such as actinic keratosis (rough, flat scaly skin patch caused by excessive sun exposure on the face or scalp), skin cell cancer on trunk, neck or extremities and warts on surface of genitals and anal area (condyloma acuminata).

How it works

Imiquimod belongs to a class of medications called immunomodulators. It works by enhancing the immune response of the body and activates the natural killer cells causing death of the tumour cells.

Directions for Using Imiquimod Cream

Usually, this comes in the form of a cream gently applied to the skin. Apply it two days a week. Too much use causes side effects. Its main purpose is to treat actinic keratosis. Before applying it to the skin, follow the given directions carefully.
