Introduction of Doxacard Tablet (Doxazosin)

Doxacard Tablet is an antihypertensive drug used to treat high blood pressure and relieve symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) such as painful or urgent urination. This medicine should be used with caution as it may cause temporary loss of consciousness due to a sudden drop in blood pressure (syncope). This medicine is not recommended for use in children.

Uses of Doxacard Tablet (Doxazosin)

Doxazosin is used alone or with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Bringing down hypertension forestalls strokes, cardiovascular failures, and kidney issues. This medication works by dilating blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Doxazosin is also used in men to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH). It does not shrink the prostate, but it works by relaxing the muscles of the prostate gland and part of the bladder. This helps relieve symptoms of BPH such as difficulty starting urine flow, weak flow, and the need to urinate frequently or urgently (including in the middle of the night). Doxazosin has a place with a class of medications called alpha blockers. Peruse the Patient Information Leaflet if accessible from your drug specialist before you begin taking doxazosin and each time you get a top off. Assuming that you have any inquiries, ask your primary care physician or drug specialist. Take this medication with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. Doxazosin can cause a sudden drop in your blood pressure, which can lead to dizziness or fainting, usually within 2 to 6 hours of taking it. This risk is higher when you start taking this medicine, after your doctor has increased your dose, or if you start treatment again after stopping it. During this time, avoid situations where you could injure yourself if you lose consciousness. To avoid injury from dizziness or fainting, take your first dose of doxazosin at bedtime, unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Your primary care physician will begin this prescription at a low portion and bit by bit increment your portion. For each dose increase or if you continue treatment after stopping it, take the first dose at bedtime, unless otherwise directed.
