OXYBUTYNIN belongs to the class of antispasmodic and anticholinergic drugs used to treat overactive bladder (OAB) with symptoms of urinary incontinence (urine leakage), urgency or frequency, increased nocturia, dysuria (pain or difficulty urinating). In addition, OXYBUTYNIN is used to treat bedwetting in children over 5 years of age when other treatments have not worked. OXYBUTYNIN contains 'Oxybutynin' which works by blocking the release of a chemical transmitter called acetylcholine which is responsible for the contraction of the bladder muscles. Thus relaxing the smooth muscles of the bladder and stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms).
